Building sharable mobile phone apps using App Lab

Ben Garside, Raspberry Pi Foundation


This session will take you through a unit of work designed to get students building their own sharable apps using App Lab. During the session you will have a go at building a simple app as well as to talk through how this could be delivered to students including evidence based research tasks such as PRIMM and Paired Programming. At the end of the session you will have a full set of resources and lesson plans to take away and use immediately in your classroom.

Ben Garside's biography

Ben is a Computing teacher at Durham Johnston School. Having originally trained as an ICT teacher, Ben was lucky enough to have been given the opportunity by his school to retrain and completed units from the MSc in Computer Science at Newcastle University to gain a Post Graduate Certificate. Ben is also a local Master Teacher in the Durham area as well as jointly running the Durham Hub.
